About The Role

We're looking for people who care about making every moment matter for the people we support in our supported living care services based in Forest Hall, North Tyneside.

Job title: Support Worker/Carer (Supported Living)

Hours: Full time, 40-48 hours per week, including day, night, waking night, and sleep-in shifts.

Location: Forest Hall, North Tyneside, Tyne & Wear

About the Role

The Support Worker/Carer role offers an opportunity for a proactive, dedicated, and empathetic individual to join an evolving care company. The team will provide practical and emotional support to empower individuals to achieve their goals and aspirations.

The service supports siblings in their new home, so knowledge of supporting vulnerable people with health needs and Type 1 diabetes is desirable.

The team will be inducted and trained before the person moves in. Support will be around daily living skills, health needs, and supporting individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism.

We seek a Support Team that is empathetic, non-judgmental, and experienced in managing challenging behaviors.

Personal care workers for women are required. This post is only available to female applicants as permitted under the Equality Act 2010.

The candidate should:

  • Demonstrate positive, proactive, and organized people skills to support and develop the team, including recruitment, induction, supervisions, appraisals, training, coaching, rota, and sickness management.
  • Lead and support support workers in understanding their responsibilities to ensure high-quality, safe, and responsive care.
  • Complete evidence-based supervisions and competency assessments for team development.
  • Support transition processes into and out of the service.
  • Liaise professionally with outside agencies and share information appropriately.
  • Create and update person-centered support/care plans and empower individuals in their goal setting.
  • Oversee and promote high-quality service standards.
  • Maintain accurate service user records.
  • Work supportively to empower individuals to live their chosen lives.
  • Possess sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and document scanning and emailing skills.
  • Understand and promote safeguarding of vulnerable adults.
  • Advocate for individuals within the boundaries of the Mental Capacity Act.
  • Having a driving license is desirable.

Experience is not essential, as full training will be provided. We welcome applicants with backgrounds as Home Carer, Care Worker, Healthcare Assistant, Nurse, Social Care Worker, Mental Health Worker, Voluntary Worker, etc.
