Mencap are seeking Relief Support Workers to join our incredible teams in our services in Northallerton.
As a Relief Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.
From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.
We support four adults who have a learning disability, who are good friends, and live in our supported living service in Northallerton. We are looking to grow our lively, inclusive, knowledgeable and exceptionally friendly staff team!
We support three gentlemen and one lady who all live independent, fun and active lifestyles. It is a busy home, from going to day centres, to the gym, cinema, seeing friends, socialising.
Supporting someone with their daily life is not a 9-5 job. You will need to be able to work across a range of different days andshift patterns, including some sleep in shifts (Payment forsleepins is competitive and compliant with National Living Wage requirements). We realise that your quality time is important too, so your rota is prepared well in advance –Got a request, something special going on? Your manager will certainly try to help you meet it.

What we're looking for:
· A genuine passion for supporting others.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
· Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
· A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
Contract options:
All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!
There is also a non contractual sleep-in available where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £ 63.70..
