Job summary

Dignus Group is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to help adults with complex needs live independently and achieve personal goals. You will work to individual care plans, assist with daily living tasks and support participation in community activities.

This role operates within a 24/7 service requiring compassion, reliability and good record-keeping. Full training and recognised qualifications are provided to support a rewarding career in care, with clear progression paths within the

  • Experience supporting vulnerable adults or similar roles.
  • Ability to follow individual care plans and instructions.
  • Strong record-keeping and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning and shopping.
  • Develop life skills and confidence.
  • Support access to community activities and opportunities.
  • Encourage choice, independence and informed decision-making.
  • Support individuals to maintain their tenancy and home environment.
  • Complete accurate daily records and support documentation.
  • Work with social workers, families and wider networks.
  • Assist with transitions, including admissions and moves between services.
  • Respond calmly to incidents, risks and emergencies.
  • Create a safe, positive home environment where people feel valued.

What the role involves

You will support vulnerable adults with a range of complex needs, helping them move towards greater independence and achieve their personal goals. Working to individual care plans and risk assessments, you will provide person-centred support tailored to each individual’s needs. Thismay include:Supporting with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning and shoppingHelping individuals develop life skills and confidenceSupporting access to community activities, appointments and opportunitiesEncouraging choice, independence and informed decision-makingSupporting individuals to maintain their tenancy and home environmentCompleting accurate daily records, incident reports and support documentationWorking closely with social workers, professionals, families and wider support networksSupporting transitions, including new admissions and moves between servicesResponding calmly and appropriately to incidents, risks and emergenciesYou’ll help create a safe, positive home environment where people feel valued, empowered and able to thrive.

Working pattern

This service operates 24/7. You will work any 2 days out of 7 on a rota basis, including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and bank holidays where required. Flexibility is important, as the needs of the people we support can vary day to day.

What we’re looking for

We welcome applications from both experienced Support Workers and people who are new to care but have the right values, attitude and willingness to learn.
