Job summary

Active Care Group is recruiting a Support Worker for Norton Court House, a specialist service for children and young people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours. Salary stated is £27,609.72 FTE per annum (pro rata) with daytime and sleep-in or shift rotations.

You will build meaningful relationships, support daily living activities and help the young people develop social and life skills, with ongoing training toward Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care.

Qualifications

• A genuine interest in providing the best person centred care for young people.
• UK residency of at least 2 years 9 months.
• Minimum 9 months experience in child care.
• Experience in child care sector / Autism / Learning Disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with children and young people.
• Establish communication methods to reduce barriers with children.
• Assist with mealtimes where necessary.
• Support with activities of daily living and personal care when needed.
• Accurately report and record work activities.
• Work towards Level 3 NVQ in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
