Job summary

Komplex Care is recruiting a Care Assistant to join a nurse-led team delivering specialist home care in Derby. You will support a young adult with lifelong clinical needs on 12-hour day and night shifts, ensuring safe, consistent care within the client’s home.

The role requires strong literacy, clear spoken English, teamwork, and a willingness to learn under clinical oversight. Training is provided with ongoing career development and wellbeing benefits.

Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Experience in care or clinical training.
  • Excellent attention to detail and situational awareness.
  • Ability to follow detailed clinical protocols consistently.
  • Basic IT skills for communication and record-keeping.

You’ll care for young adult in Derby working 12 hour shifts to provide safe and consistent care in their own home.

They live with Pompe’s Disease and require support with a Tracheostomy, Oxygen Therapy, Diabetes Management, Gastrostomy, and a Ventilator.

We are looking for carers who have a good standard of literacy skills, are able to understand written information, and keep clear records.
Eager to learn necessary skills, able to follow directions/routines, with good communication skills, clear spoken English, and a willingness to learn.

Willing to work as a team with both colleagues and family.


Carers need to be confident, outgoing, enthusiastic, engaging, proactive, and responsible.

Your Role as a Care Assistant

You’ll join a dedicated, nurse-led team providing hands-on care for individuals with lifelong and potentially life-critical clinical needs.

This is NOT standard domiciliary care. You’ll follow detailed clinical care plans, monitor changes in the individual’s condition and perform the specialist interventions needed to keep them safe, stable and comfortable at home. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing personal care, medication and clinical interventions
  • Managing tracheostomies, ventilation and specialist equipment
  • Monitoring clinical observations and recognising deterioration
  • Maintaining accurate records and escalating concerns immediately
What We’re Looking For

This is more than a job. You’ll be trusted with someone’s safety and wellbeing while delivering care that requires skill, focus and sound judgement. It takes a certain kind of person: someone compassionate, dependable and highly attentive who can remain calm and act correctly under pressure. We also require the following:
