Job summary

Specialist Homecare Group is recruiting Full time Support Workers to assist an individual with autism, mild learning disabilities and mental health needs in the ASKERN, Doncaster area. You will provide 360 wrap-around support across day and night, living with the individual to support daily tasks and activities.

The role requires understanding autism and mental health, a positive, patient approach, and a willingness to work as part of a dedicated team to deliver person-centred care.

Qualifications

• Experience working with autistic individuals or in mental health settings.
• Ability to provide person-centred support across daily life.
• Willingness to engage in community activities and adventures.

Responsibilities

• Provide wrap-around support to individuals with autism/learning disabilities.
• Support daily living activities and routines, day and night.
• Be a positive advocate and consistent in communication and actions.
• Participate as part of a team delivering person-centred care.

£13.00 per hour Days / £13.00 per hour Sleeping Nights / £14.00 per hour Nights / £19.50 per hour Bank Holidays

We are currently recruiting Full time Support Workers to work with an individual who has autism, mild learning disabilities and mental health needs within the ASKERN, Doncaster.

Role Description

We currently have a great opportunity for dedicated Support Workers to work with individuals who have learning disability, autism and/or mental health support needs. The individuals will be living on their own so we are looking for Support Workers who can provide 360 wrap around support that covers all aspects of their life throughout the day and night.

To be part of their team, they are looking for the following qualities from a team member:

• Povide support during the good times and the difficult periods our individual faces in their daily life.
• Have a good understanding of Autism / Mental Health and how this can impact daily living or have working with in a mental health setting
• Understand Autism or have had experience working with Autistic people, and that you understand that being autistic is an important part of who they are.
• Be a positive advocate for them.
• Be consistent – do what you say you say you will if you can’t explain why.
• Be prepared to motivate them in a supportive manner
• Be patient and understanding encourage them on the difficult days
• Have a fun and kind personality who will go on adventures
• Work with them to solve issues and overcome day to day tasks
• Come to work to “Get to know me” as that is what is needed to support them
• Work as part of the team who deliver amazing person-centred care
• Think outside the box
• Be able to have a laugh and joke but have set standards and boundaries

Schedule:

• 12 hour shifts
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability
• Overtime

Licence/Certification:

• Autism (preferred)
• Driving Licence (preferred)

• £125 once the referred individual has successfully completed their first shift.
• £125 once the referred individual has successfully completed their probation period.
