Job summary

LDA Care Ltd is hiring a Team Leader Support Worker in Macclesfield to lead a small team delivering hands-on care to adults with mental health needs in a supported living setting. You will supervise rotas, train staff, and ensure care plans and risk assessments are accurately implemented.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. A driving licence is desirable for site travel and transition activities.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on care experience with mental health clients.
  • Leadership experience in a supported living/residential setting.
  • Strong communication and teaching abilities.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Understanding of PBS practice is desirable.
  • Willingness to travel to Middlesbrough during transition is required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the care team, manage rotas, and coordinate training.
  • Conduct in-house induction training for new starters.
  • Ensure risk assessments are updated and shared with the team.
  • Complete/collate timesheets and liaise with payroll.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and weekly fire checks.
  • Cover shifts as contingency and work every other weekend.

Job Description: Team Leader Support Worker

Pay: £14.50 Standard Rate

We are currently recruiting a Team Leader Support Workerjoin our team supporting adults with needs in the Macclesfield area.

The Role

The ideal candidate will be confident working from their own initiative and able to adapt to changing needs. You will play a vital role in supporting clients with complex mental health needs, promoting independence, and facilitating meaningful community engagement. Consistency and reliability are essential.

The service in Macclesfield is a supported living service for 3 individuals, each with their own self-contained apartment and core team. Primary diagnosis of Mental health need, the individuals we support may also have:

  • Learning disabilities
  • Personality Disorder including EUPD
  • Self-harm and Suicidal ideation
Role Description - Duties
  • Hands-on care, supporting the client with their daily routines, encouraging independence in all areas this will be achieved via the management of the rota. You would be expected to cover shifts as a contingency
  • Working every other weekend.
  • Supervise the care team, manage rotas and co-ordinate training based on learning needs
  • Conduct in-house Induction Training with new starters
  • Ensure outcomes of appointments are shared with the team and implemented in daily care routines
  • Write and update Risk Assessments in collaboration with Service Manager.
  • Ensure Risk Assessments are in place for all equipment used by Care Team in collaboration with Service manager.
  • Complete/collate timesheets and communicate with Service Manager and Payroll team.
  • Organise equipment reviews and book maintenance and servicing for all devises, this would include reconciling the client’s finances (money tin) and weekly fire checks as per Policy.
Experience and Skills Required
  • Hands-on experience of supporting individuals with Mental Health.
  • Experience as a Support Worker / Team Leader in a Supported Living Setting or Residential Home
  • Working in a family/private home
  • Excellent communication and teaching skills
  • Strong administrative and organisation skills
  • Computer literate and accurate record keeping
  • Understanding and experience of PBS Practice
  • Able to Lead by example
  • Time management
  • Able to stay calm in challenging situations
Essential Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Senior Support Worker, Team Leader, or similar leadership role
  • Strong experience supporting individuals with complex mental health needs (essential)
  • Highly driven, able to work independently, and confident in decision making
  • Must be active and energetic, as the client enjoys being out in the community
  • Experience with auditing processes to a reasonable level
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong person-centred focus
  • Willingness and ability to travel to Middlesbrough several times a week during transition

Schedule:
  • 12-hour shifts – 08:00 to 20:00 / 20:00 to 08:00
  • Monday to Sunday rota
  • Alternative weekend availability
  • Overtime
Licence/Certification:
  • Mental Health (MUST)

*Refer a friend bonus is payable at
  • £125 once the referred individual has successfully completed their first shift.
  • £125 once the referred individual has successfully completed their probation period.
