Job summary

The Avenues Group in Southampton is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our team, supporting four people in the service and in the community. Roles are available as full-time and part-time, with shifts between 7am and 10pm, including sleep-in shifts and alternate weekends.

We are looking for passionate, caring Support Workers to join our Southampton team, supporting four people both in the service and in the community. The people we support have a range of learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, and communication styles, so staff must be adaptable, patient, and highly observant.

The fundamental mission of the team is to actively empower these 4 individuals, supporting them to maximise their everyday independence, develop life skills, and safely access the wider community.

Working hours are between 7am and 10pm, including sleep-in shifts and alternate weekends.

Shifts may include full days, half days, or split shifts, either within the same service or across our other services, on a two-week rolling rota.

Every day is different, but your role will include:

  • Supporting people to live independently and enjoy everyday activities
  • Encouraging social connections with family, friends, and the local community
  • Helping with finances, household tasks, and shopping
  • Providing respectful, person-centred personal care
  • Most importantly - creating moments of joy and achievement!
