Job summary

Voyage Care in the United Kingdom seeks a compassionate and resilient care assistant to provide person-centred support in a home setting. You will assist with daily living activities, including moving and handling, personal care, meals, medication administration, and attending medical appointments.

Sleep-in shifts are routine, with a focus on flexible, independent work and adapting communication for non-verbal or diverse needs.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide person-centred support to adults in daily living activities.
• Willingness to work night or sleep-in shifts and adapt to individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily living support including moving and handling, personal care, meals, and household tasks.
• Administer medication as required and accompany to medical appointments.
• Engage in leisure activities, attend house and team meetings, and support during mealtimes.
• Offer one-to-one and two-to-one support and maintain health and safety within the home.

Typical Shifts are: 7:30am - 9:30pm / 7:30am - 2:30pm / 2:30pm - 9:30pm including some sleep-in shifts.

In this role, you will provide person-centred support with a range of daily living activities, including moving and handling, personal care, medication administration, meal preparation, household tasks, attending medical appointments, key worker sessions, leisure activities, and participation in house and team meetings. A significant aspect of the role involves providing both one-to-one and two-to-one support during mealtimes and while accessing the local community.

We're seeking a compassionate and resilient individual who is confident working independently and committed to delivering high-quality support. You will be comfortable supporting adults who may display verbal or physical behaviours that challenge, and will be able to adapt your communication approach to meet individual needs, including supporting people who are non-verbal.

You will also play an active role in maintaining health and safety within the home. Sleep-in shifts are a requirement of this role and a full UK manual driving licence is highly desirable.
