Voyage Care in Halifax is recruiting caring, hands-on Male Support Workers to help people gain more independence in daily life.

You will work with a dynamic team to support a group of individuals with enhanced support needs, including behaviour of distress, mental health conditions and autism. The role involves teaching life skills, encouraging community participation and promoting wellbeing and confidence.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals requiring enhanced support, including mental health conditions, autism, and trauma.
• Ability to teach life skills, encourage independence and community access.
• Resilience, flexibility and a composed approach when supporting people.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care and daily living activities.
• Support residents to gain independence and participate in activities.
• Encourage socialisation and community engagement, both inside the service and locally.

Typical Shifts are: Core Shift 8am-8pm /Sleep Ins 10pm-9am( if required) /Waking Nights ( if required) 8pm-8am

As a support worker with us you'll be helping people to gain more independence in their daily lives, whilst working within a dynamic team to support a fantastic group of people!

Our supported living service in Halifax is a welcoming and friendly environment and you can be sure that no two days will be the same! You’ll be enhancing the lives of the people we support by teaching them new life skills, assisting with personal care, encouraging them to access their local communities, socialising and doing lots of activities. One day you could be out with the people we support in the local area, the next you could be unwinding with them playing video games, watching films or doing activities in the service .
