Job summary

Codi Group in Cimla, Neath, is seeking a Support Worker to help two ladies with learning and physical disabilities live independently. You will provide personalised 1‑to‑1 support, build genuine relationships, and help develop life skills to enjoy activities from beach trips to cinema outings.

The role is part-time (20.5 hours) with a mix of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, waking nights, and one sleep-in per week, with every other weekend off.

Qualifications

  • Background in caring or health support is preferred, with full training provided.
  • Full UK manual driving licence is essential.
  • IT, literacy and numeracy skills are expected.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and provide good customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Providing person-centered support for daily needs such as personal care.
  • Assisting with mobility using hoists and wheelchairs.
  • Supporting dietary needs and food preparation.
  • Offering emotional support and encouragement.
  • Completing cleaning and administrative tasks.
  • Administering and managing medications.
  • Monitoring medication stocks and finances.
  • Bringing innovative ideas to improve team practices.
  • Maintaining high standards of communication and digital documentation.

About The Role

This service is home to two fun-loving, creative ladies with learning and physical disabilities, and they’re looking for someone who can help bring confidence, independence, and joy into their everyday lives. As a Support Worker, you’ll be there to offer personalised 1‑to‑1 support, building genuine relationships where you can truly see the difference you make. You’ll help them develop important life skills, encourage their independence, and support them to enjoy the activities they love, whether that’s a sunny trip to the beach, a cinema outing, or new adventures in the community.

Key Duties Will Involve
  • Providing person-centered support for daily needs, including personal care (showering, bathing, brushing teeth, continence care, etc.).
  • Assisting with mobility, including the use of hoists and wheelchairs.
  • Supporting dietary needs and food preparation.
  • Offering emotional support.
  • Completing cleaning and administrative tasks.
  • Administering and managing medication.
  • Monitoring individual medication stocks and finances.
  • Bringing innovative ideas to improve team practices.
  • Maintain high standards of communication and digital documentation.
Skills And Experience Needed

A background of working with people with physical or mental health needs is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided.

Pay And Benefits
  • £25,877 FTE (£13.45 per hour)
  • Sleep-in rate: £62.64 per 8 hour shift - approx. 1 per week
  • Waking night rate: 20% Enhancement from 11pm to 7am
  • Enhanced DBS which we will pay for
  • Social Care Wales registration is fully reimbursed
