Job summary

Keys Group is seeking a dedicated Home Manager to lead a residential children's home, delivering high-quality care and strategic development. You will manage shifts, mentor staff, and ensure therapeutic support for each child to achieve positive outcomes.

The role requires a minimum of 1 year in a residential setting, NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare, and a strong grasp of safeguarding procedures. A full driving licence and flexible working are essential for shift coverage.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a Residential Children's home.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and Ofsted regulations.
  • Excellent team leadership and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver quality care services and contribute to strategic home developments.
  • Lead and mentor staff to provide therapeutic care for children.
  • Act as a positive role model to staff and children to support daily living needs.
  • Coordinate shifts, including sleep-ins, to ensure continuous care.
  • Profile and manage staff performance and wellbeing through support networks.

Job description

  • You will be part of a caring team that provides a safe and loving home for children and young people, led and supported by a Service Manager and Deputy Manager.
  • Responsible for delivery of quality care services, as well as the strategic planning for developments within the home and day to day shift management matters.
  • Leading your team along with other professionals, you will provide the therapeutic care and support needed for each individual child focused on obtaining the best outcomes.
  • Act as a positive role model to colleagues and children to meet their everyday living needs, developing trusting relationships that create recovery, growth and lasting change.
  • Responsible for mentoring of staff and accessing of appropriate services to support the childcare practices within the home., Keys Care provides safe, supportive homes for adults and children, offering tailored services and specialist support to help people thrive.   • A minimum of 1 year experience working within a Residential Childrens home.
  • NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare.
  • Related knowledge of Ofsted legislation and safeguarding procedures.

  • A strong people manager with a hands on approach.
  • Full driving licence is essential.
  • You need to be able to work flexibly in caring for the children. This will include working shifts and sleep-ins
