Job summary

BRC Jobs in Newquay is seeking a Support Worker for a 2-month contract at our supported living service. You will provide person-centred support to customers with mental ill health and substance issues, building trust while managing risk and supporting individual goals.

You will work 22.5 hours weekly in 3 shifts and must be comfortable with lone working and adapting to changing needs. A compassionate, professional approach and strong record-keeping are essential.

  • Support customers who may display challenging behaviour, maintaining a calm, professional and positive approach.

  • Contribute to risk assessments and effective risk management.
  • Promote independence, dignity, wellbeing and positive outcomes for customers.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and support documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues and other professionals.
  • Work confidently both independently, including lone working, and as part of a team.
  • Respond appropriately to challenging situations and work effectively under pressure.
  • Adapt to changing circumstances and the individual needs of customers.

Job description

Support Worker

LOCATION: Newquay

HOURS: 22.5 hours per week

WORKING PATTERN: 3 x 7.5-hour shifts, Monday–Sunday, between 8am and 9pm

SALARY: £15.34 per hour PAYE

DURATION: 2 months

Are you passionate about supporting people and making a real difference in their lives? We are looking for a Support Worker to join our team at our supported living service in Newquay, supporting customers who may experience challenging behaviour associated with mental ill health and alcohol and substance misuse. This is a rewarding role where you will provide person-centred support, build positive relationships and help customers work towards greater stability and independence. You will need to be compassionate, resilient and confident when working in challenging situations, while always maintaining a professional and positive approach.
