Job summary

BRC Jobs is seeking a dedicated Support Worker for our Newquay service. You will provide person-centred support to customers experiencing mental ill health and substance misuse, helping them to maintain independence and safety.

The role involves working 22.5 hours weekly across 3 shifts, including lone working and team collaboration. You should be compassionate, resilient and capable of staying calm under pressure while recording accurate notes and communicating with professionals.

Qualifications

  • Experience or understanding of support needs and planning.
  • Experience in risk assessing and risk management.
  • Confident communicator who can build positive relationships and rapport with customers.
  • Organised with good record-keeping and computer skills.

  • Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues and other professionals.
  • Work confidently both independently, including lone working, and as part of a team.
  • Respond appropriately to challenging situations and work effectively under pressure.
  • Adapt to changing circumstances and the individual needs of customers.

Support Worker

Location: Newquay

Hours: 22.5 hours per week

Working pattern: 3 x 7.5-hour shifts, Monday–Sunday, between 8am and 9pm

Salary: £15.34 per hour PAYE

Duration: Temp to perm

We are looking for a Support Worker to join our team at our supported living service in Newquay, supporting customers who may experience challenging behaviour associated with mental ill health and alcohol and substance misuse. This is a rewarding role where you will provide person-centred support, build positive relationships and help customers work towards greater stability and independence.

You will need to be compassionate, resilient and confident when working in challenging situations, while always maintaining a professional and positive approach.
