Job summary

LDA Care Ltd in Newquay is seeking a Female Support Worker on a part-time basis to provide 24-hour coverage for an individual with learning disability, autism and mental health support needs. You will support during day and night shifts, ensuring person-centred care and a consistent, compassionate approach.

The role requires understanding autism/mental health and a patient, proactive attitude. Driving licence is preferred, and the team encourages ongoing training, with weekly pay and a strong

• Knowledge of autism or experience in mental health settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide day and night support to the individual in their daily life.
• Be a positive advocate and consistent in communication and boundaries.

Hours: 1 x 24 Hours

Pay: £14.00 per hour days/ £15.00 per hour nights

Role Description

• Provide support during the good times and the difficult periods our individual faces in their daily life.
• Have a good understanding of Autism / Mental Health and how this can impact daily living or have working with in a mental health setting
• Understand Autism or have had experience working with Autistic people, and that you understand that being autistic is an important part of who they are.
• Be a positive advocate for them.
• Be consistent – do what you say you say you will if you can’t explain why.
• Be prepared to motivate them in a supportive manner
• Be patient and understanding encourage them on the difficult days
• Have a fun and kind personality who will go on adventures
• Work with them to solve issues and overcome day to day tasks
• Come to work to “Get to know me” as that is what is needed to support them
• Work as part of the team who deliver amazing person-centred care
• Think outside the box
• Be able to have a laugh and joke but have set standards and boundaries

Schedule:

• 12 hour shifts – 08:00 to 20:00 / 20:00 to 08:00
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability
• Overtime

Licence/Certification:

• Mental Health (preferred)
• Driving Licence (preferred)

*Refer a friend bonus is payable at

• £125 once the referred individual has successfully completed their first shift.
