Job summary

LiveWest is recruiting a part-time Support Worker to empower individuals with diverse needs to live independently in the Newquay area from Kernow Court. The role involves lone working, 22.2 hours weekly, on a rolling 4-week rota, with shifts including banks and weekends.

You will assess risks, maintain records, and work with teams to promote community participation while safeguarding vulnerable groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Tailored Support: Provide responsive, person-centred assistance to individuals with complex needs, helping them achieve positive outcomes and independence.
  • Foster Collaboration: Build open and trusting relationships with customers, colleagues, and partner agencies to ensure seamless and comprehensive support.
  • Promote Participation: Encourage individuals to engage in social, educational and employment opportunities, preventing isolation and promoting self-determination.
  • Manage Risks Effectively: Conduct thorough risk assessments and maintain professional boundaries, ensuring health, safety and compliance with safeguarding policies.
Role Details

This role is being offered on a part time, permanent basis working 22.2 hours per week. You will be working 3 days per week, on a rolling 4 week rota, Monday to Sunday between 8am and 9pm, to include bank holidays, weekends. This role will be based at our Kernow Court Services, supporting customers in the Newquay area. Please note, this role will involve lone working.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable groups. Appointment to this role is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.

About The Candidate

To be successful in your application for the role of Support Worker, you will have the essential skills and experience for a level 1 role (please see candidate information pack) and the following role specific skills and experience:

  • Have experience of risk assessing and risk management.
  • Be a great communicator with the ability to build rapport.
  • Have accurate record keeping and computer skills.
