Job summary

MedGen Healthcare is seeking compassionate Support Workers to care for children and young people with complex mental health needs in Milton Keynes.

You will provide emotional support, assist with daily living activities, and help manage routines for those with ASD and ADHD, while following care plans and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months UK experience as a Support Worker.
  • Experience supporting children and young people with Autism, ADHD, and challenging behaviour.
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
  • In-date PMVA training (or willingness to complete training).

Responsibilities

  • Provide emotional support to children and young people.
  • Aid with daily living activities and routines.

Job Types: Full-time | Part-time | Temporary (Ongoing)

MedGen Healthcare is seeking compassionate, resilient, and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and support to children and young people with complex mental health needs.

This role involves supporting children and adolescents with conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, emotional and behavioural difficulties, and other additional needs. You will play a vital role in helping young people feel safe, understood, and supported in their daily lives.

The Role

As a Support Worker, you will:

  • Provide consistent emotional support and reassurance to children experiencing anxiety, distress, or behavioural challenges.
  • Support children with autism and ADHD to manage routines, transitions, and sensory sensitivities.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, mealtimes, hygiene, and maintaining a structured routine.
  • Implement behaviour support plans and positive behaviour strategies in line with care plans.
  • Safely manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using PMVA techniques where necessary.
  • Maintain accurate, clear, and timely records of care provided and incidents.
  • Promote a safe, nurturing, structured, and stimulating environment tailored to individual needs.
Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
  • In date PMVA training (or willingness to do).
