Job summary

Luton Borough Council in Luton is recruiting a Reablement Support Worker to join a supportive multi-disciplinary team. You will provide person-centred support that helps individuals build confidence, gain independence and achieve their goals, with a focus on enabling people to live independently at home.

This role operates seven days a week and requires a full, valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (or willingness to obtain within 12 months).
• Full, valid driving licence and access to own vehicle are essential.
• Flexible to work evenings, weekends and some bank holidays.

What we’re looking for

As a ReablementSupportWorker, you’ll provide person-centredsupportthat helps individuals build confidence, maintain their independence and remain living safely in their own homes.You’ll work closely with individuals, carers, families and professional colleagues, using your communication skills and initiative to identify andrespondto concerns.

You’ll supportpeople in line with their care andsupportplans, including carrying out therapeutic activities that promote independence and wellbeing.You’ll need a goodunderstandingof reablement, rehabilitation and equality, along with the ability to keep accurate records using IT and electronic monitoring systems.

You’ll need to be able to undertake manual handling tasks and hold, or be willing to obtain within 12 months of appointment, an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.A full, valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential, as you’ll travel across the Borough.You’ll also need to be flexible and willing to work a rota covering evenings, weekends and some bank holidays.

Because of the nature of this job, it will be necessary for the appropriate level of criminal record disclosure to be undertaken.
