Job summary

Brook Street Social Care is recruiting a dedicated Support Worker to provide one-to-one support for a male adult living in Keynsham, Bristol.

This role focuses on brain injury recovery, promoting independence, wellbeing and community involvement through home and community visits, appointments, hobbies, and practical and emotional support. Hours are weekends 9:00–5:00 with potential for additional evening shifts as the support package develops.

Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Previous experience supporting individuals with brain injuries
  • Patient, resilient and adaptable with strong communication
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative

Support Worker (Brain Injury Support)

Location: Keynsham, Bristol
Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour
Hours: Saturday & Sunday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, with the potential for additional evening shifts during the week

Brook Street Social Care is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to provide one-to-one support for a male adult living in the Keynsham area of Bristol.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support an individual with a brain injury to maximise their independence, access their local community, pursue personal interests, and achieve their goals. We are seeking someone who can build a positive, professional relationship and provide consistent, person-centred support.

The Role

You will support the individual both at home and within the community, helping to promote independence, wellbeing, and social inclusion. Duties may include accompanying him to appointments, supporting community activities, encouraging engagement in hobbies and interests, and providing practical and emotional support as required.

Current hours available:

  • Saturday: 9:00am to 5:00pm
  • Sunday: 9:00am to 5:00pm
  • Potential for 2-3 evening shifts per week as the support package develops
About You

We are looking for a confident and reliable individual who:

  • Is a driver with a full UK driving licence
  • Has previous experience supporting individuals who have sustained a brain injury
  • Is patient, resilient, and adaptable
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Can work independently and use their initiative
  • Is passionate about delivering person-centred support
  • Is committed to promoting independence, dignity, and choice
Essential Requirements
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Access to a vehicle
  • Previous Support Worker, Care Assistant, Healthcare Assistant, or similar experience
  • Experience supporting individuals with brain injuries, neurological conditions, or complex needs
  • Strong understanding of person-centred support
