Job summary

Cartrefi Cymru Co-operative is seeking a dedicated Support Worker in RCT to help individuals with learning disabilities lead fulfilled lives. You’ll support everyday decisions, enable participation in activities, and assist with personal care and finances.

Training is provided; a driving licence is essential for transport to appointments and activities. The role offers permanent, part-time or full-time hours with shift patterns that may include weekends and sleep-ins.

Job description

As a Support Worker in RCT, you’ll help make the everyday remarkable for the people we support.

We are dedicated to supporting those with learning disabilities to live a fulfilled and enriched life in the community, as a Support Worker, you can play a vital role in this.

Role: Support Worker

Location: RCT

Hours

We have both part time (minimum 10 hours per week) and full time hours (maximum 40 hours per week), please speak to us about the hours you are looking to do. Your shift pattern could include weekends and sleep-ins

Salary

£13.59 per hour and our sleep-in shifts at £60 per night and our travel expenses is paid 45p per mile

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you’ll actively support individuals in making their own choices and set their own goals — whether it’s everyday decisions like what to wear, eat, or do, or something bigger such as where to live, how to manage their finances, or where to go on holiday.

As a trusted Support Worker, you'll empower people to follow through on these choices, including taking part in structured activities that build confidence and develop new skills. You’ll also offer practical support to help them meet responsibilities like paying bills, maintaining their homes, being good neighbours, and staying connected with friends and family.

Your goal is to make everyday remarkable through enhancing well-being and focusing on the small, meaningful moments that bring joy and purpose. By offering this kind of person-centred support every day, this truly is a fun and rewarding role for the right person.
