Job summary

Bush & Company Rehabilitation Limited is seeking compassionate care assistants to support a 16-year-old with complex healthcare needs at home. The role involves personal care, medication administration, feeding tube care, epilepsy support, and light housekeeping, across day and night shifts.

  • Carry out light household duties relevant to the role; may assist in hospital settings.

Job description

Rising to (Following successful completion of 3 months’ probation):

Weekdays £14.59 per hour


Week Day Nights £15.81 per hour


Bank Holiday £21.88 per hour



Days & Hours

36 hours per week, plus the opportunity for overtime to cover staff sickness and holidays. Rotas are produced a month in advance. The normal shift pattern is 12-hour shifts, days and nights 9am – 9pm and 9pm - 9am, and 6-hour shifts on some weekdays during term time 3pm – 9pm.



Driver required?

Yes, essential – on duty an automatic, adapted vehicle is available.



About Me

I am a 16-year-old young man looking for kind, caring, patient and dedicated individuals to support me within my family home environment, I have complex health care needs and require full time support during the day and night. I value stability in my care arrangements, ensuring my needs are met with minimal disruption.


I enjoy trips out, cinema visits, parks, my beach hut, music and arts and crafts. I thrive in a calm and positive environment with people who understand and respond well to my non-verbal communication.


This is a rewarding and varied role where the successful candidate will provide high-quality personal care and support tailored to my needs. Due to the complexity of care involved, full specialist training will be provided, and I am seeking someone committed to becoming a long-standing member of my care team. The support I need includes managing and administering medications, supporting Mic-Key feeding tube care, and assisting with epilepsy and other care related to cerebral palsy.


The role will also involve maintaining accurate records and documentation, undertaking regular training competency updates and carrying out light household duties relevant to the role. There may be occasions where support is required within a hospital setting.



About You

You genuinely care about making a positive difference in someone's life. You're caring, patient, reliable and calm when under pressure, with the ability to remain organised and flexible to changing needs. You will need to have excellent communication skills and be observant to subtle changes and non-verbal cues.


Experience supporting individuals with complex medical needs is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided to the right candidate.


Car drivers with a full driving license are essential, and candidates must meet the requirements for motor insurance purposes.
