Job summary

Sugarman Health & Wellbeing Limited is seeking a compassionate Care Assistant to provide one-to-one care for a client with complex health needs in Bournemouth. The role involves assisting with daily living, mobility, nutrition and respiratory support, following detailed care plans to ensure safety, comfort and quality of life.

Ideal candidates have a minimum of 6 months’ professional care experience, familiarity with complex care and epilepsy, and a DBS check.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months of professional care experience.
  • Experience with complex care or neuro-related conditions preferred.
  • Knowledge of epilepsy management and seizure awareness.
  • Experience with PEG/gastrostomy feeding is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one support for a service user with complex healthcare needs at home.
  • Assist with daily living activities, mobility, positioning, nutrition and respiratory needs.
  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred care following care plans.
  • Promote safety, comfort, dignity and wellbeing.

About the Role


We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Healthcare Assistant to provide one-to-one support for our service user with complex healthcare needs within their home environment. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to the quality of life of an individual living with multiple long-term conditions, supporting them to remain safe, comfortable, and engaged in daily life. Our service user has Cerebral Palsy (GMFCS Level V), Epilepsy, GORD, Obstructive Sleep Apnoea and Stridor. They require full support with all aspects of daily living, including personal care, mobility, positioning, nutrition, and respiratory management. The role involves delivering high-quality, person-centred care, supporting gastrostomy feeding, monitoring seizures, assisting with respiratory needs, and promoting the individual's safety, comfort, dignity, and overall wellbeing.


We are looking for:



  • Ideally have previous experience in complex care or healthcare settings.

  • Experience supporting individuals with Cerebral Palsy and/or neurological conditions.

  • Knowledge of epilepsy management and seizure awareness.

  • Experience with PEG/gastrostomy feeding.

  • Understanding of pressure area care and moving & handling.

  • Experience using hoists and specialist mobility equipment.

  • Excellent communication and observation skills.

  • A calm, patient, and compassionate approach.

  • The ability to work independently and follow detailed care plans.


Requirements:



  • A minimum of 6 months of professional care experience

  • The right to work in the UK and have the correct documentation for this

  • A full enhanced DBS

  • An up-to-date CV with full working history
