Job summary

British Red Cross is seeking a Support Worker to assist people after hospital discharge in Gloucester. This permanent role focuses on practical and emotional support, helping individuals regain independence and safety at home.

About The Role
Support Worker - Assisted Discharge
Location

Salary: £24,479 per annum, pro rata (£13.45 per hour)

Hours: 14 per week

Contract: Permanent

Additional Information: Full UK Driving License (held for a minimum of 2 years) and willingness to drive service vehicles

What will a day in the life of a Support Worker involve?
  • Providing practical and emotional support, including welfare calls, shopping, and home visits.
  • Supporting adults after a hospital stay to help them recover safely at home.

  • Assessing needs and following a personalised support plan for each service user.
To be a successful Support Worker, what will you need?
