Job summary

The Salvation Army in Glasgow is seeking dedicated Support Workers to help residents at Wallace of Campsie House Lifehouse. You will deliver person-centred support that promotes choice, control and independence, helping clients build confidence and achieve positive outcomes.

Responsibilities include tailored 1:1 support, budgeting assistance and liaising with external services, while maintaining records and adhering to safeguarding policies.

Job description

Working hours: 35 hours per week (please note that full time is 40 hours) Interview Date: To be confirmed The Salvation Army provides support and emergency accommodation for adults experiencing homelessness in the Glasgow area. We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join our team at Wallace of Campsie House Lifehouse, supporting residents to build confidence, develop independence and make positive life choices. As a Support Worker, you will deliver high-quality, person-centred support that promotes choice, control and independence. You will work with clients to identify their needs, agree and review support plans, manage risk, access services and achieve positive outcomes.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide tailored one-to-one support using a trauma-sensitive and person-centred approach.
  • Help clients develop practical skills, manage benefits and budgeting, and access appointments or external services.
  • Maintain accurate records, complete assessments and follow safeguarding, policy and legislative requirements.

We are looking for someone organised and committed to supporting vulnerable people with dignity and respect. You will have good communication and IT skills, the ability to work under pressure, and the confidence to use your initiative within a busy team environment.

What we’re looking for
  • Knowledge or understanding of the needs faced by people experiencing homelessness or vulnerability.
  • Strong problem-solving, time management and written record-keeping skills.
  • A willingness to work within and promote the Christian ethos and values of The Salvation Army.
  • Someone organised and committed to supporting vulnerable people with dignity and respect.
  • You will have good communication and IT skills, the ability to work under pressure, and the confidence to use your initiative within a busy team environment.

Appointment will be subject to satisfactory references, enhanced PVG check and evidence of your Right to Work in the UK in line with Home Office requirements.
