Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Support Worker to work with homeless people at Logos House, a Lifehouse operated by The Salvation Army in Bristol. This full-time role offers 40 hours per week, with two positions available and an interview date to be confirmed.

You will empower individuals to overcome barriers, support them toward independent living, and apply a person-centred, psychologically informed approach.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the main support needs faced by homeless and vulnerable clients.
  • Understanding of psychologically informed approaches to support.
  • Ability to take the lead and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to work in a busy environment, be solution-focused, and manage time.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; IT proficiency.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and highly motivated Support Worker with a vision and passion for working with homeless people within one of our Lifehouses (Supported housing) in Bristol - Logos House. Logos House is a short stay service that supports people to achieve their long-term goals. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Support Team. As a Support Worker you will empower individuals to overcome the barriers they face, achieve their aspirations and support them to move on towards independent living.

Key Responsibilities
  • Using a person-centred approach and therapeutic alliance, you will support and empower individuals to sustain their journey of recovery from homelessness and achieve lasting change.
Successful Candidate Will Have
  • Knowledge of the main support needs which are commonly faced by homeless and vulnerable clients
  • An understanding of working in a psychologically informed way
  • The ability to take the lead and make decisions
  • Ability to work in busy environment, be solution focused, show good time management skills and can demonstrate ability to prioritise and make decisions under pressure
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in a range of IT Packages including Microsoft

Appointment will be subject to satisfactory references, a criminal record check (DBS: a satisfactory Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Barred List check of the Adult Workforce and evidence of your Right to Work in the UK in line with Home Office requirements.As we are not a licensed sponsor, applicants must already have the right to work in the UK.
