Job summary

Lincolnshire County Council is seeking a Support Worker to help people with disabilities live full, meaningful lives in Gainsborough. You will support a range of activities and develop new skills across our community bases, working in partnership with individuals and the team.

You will join a friendly, experienced group and contribute to flexible, person-centred plans. The role involves weekends/evenings and a commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice; hybrid working arrangements apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide a range of meaningful and purposeful opportunities to help people maintain and develop new skills.
• Support people with a wide range of activities including healthy eating, arts, gardening, personal development, and fitness.
• Assist with intensive interaction and sensory support as part of daily activities.
• Travel across the county to support services as required.
• Collaborate with the team to promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and community integration.

Job description

We are seeking a Support Worker. It's our job to help people with disabilities live each day to the full. We're developing our community day services in Gainsborough, and this is an exciting time to join our experienced and friendly team. We are looking for a Support Worker who can work flexibly, with a positive outlook, good communication skills, and a willingness to learn.

We have one full-time post. We work flexibly across the week including some weekends and evenings. A wide range of people with disabilities access our bases, which are well-established in the local community, and well used by a range of community groups. Working with the skills, talents, likes and needs of each person we support, you will provide a range of meaningful and purposeful opportunities which help everyone maintain and develop new skills, try new things, and make a positive contribution to their community.

You'll support people with a wide range of activities and opportunities, including:

• Healthy eating & cookery
• Creative arts - woodwork, pottery, music, making things to sell or exhibit.
• Gardening & horticulture
• Personal development & wellbeing
• Fitness and health
• Intensive interaction & sensory support
• Work skills development -volunteering & supported volunteering

And much, much more - bring your skills, interests and talents and share your expertise with us. You must have the ability to travel across the county for service purposes.
