Job summary

Lincolnshire County Council is seeking an experienced Team Manager to lead the Learning Disabilities Team within Adult Care & Community Wellbeing. You will provide visible leadership to social care professionals, champion strengths-based practice, and ensure person-centred, high-quality services.

You will collaborate with health partners, families and community organisations to promote independence and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Social Work qualification with managerial experience.
• Current registration with Social Work England (SWE).
• Minimum of five years' post-qualification experience in health or adult social care.
• Experience leading, supervising, or managing teams.
• Strong knowledge of adult social care legislation, safeguarding, MCA, Care Act, and related statutory frameworks.
• Excellent communication and partnership-building skills.

Lincolnshire County Council is seeking an inspiring and motivated Team Manager to lead our dedicated Learning Disabilities Team. About the role

As Team Manager for the Learning Disabilities Team, you will provide strong, visible leadership to a team of social care professionals delivering statutory adult social care services across Lincolnshire.

You will champion strengths-based practice, ensuring people with learning disabilities are supported to maximise their independence, exercise choice and control, and achieve outcomes that matter most to them.

Working collaboratively with health partners, providers, families, carers, advocacy services, and community organisations, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality, personalised support that promotes wellbeing, inclusion, and safeguarding.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of social care professionals and Advanced Practitioners.
• Promote innovative, strengths-based approaches that support adults with learning disabilities to live fulfilled and independent lives.
• Provide oversight and decision-making for complex cases, safeguarding enquiries, risk management, and legal processes.
• Ensure assessments, reviews, support planning, and interventions are delivered to a consistently high standard.
• Support staff development through supervision, coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
• Drive continuous service improvement, quality assurance, and excellent practice standards.
• Build and maintain positive partnerships with health colleagues, providers, families, and community networks.
• Manage resources effectively and contribute to the strategic development of Learning Disability services across the county.
• Lead and support the implementation of service developments, transformation programmes, and new ways of working.

About you

Essential Requirements

• Professional qualification in Social Work with managerial experience
• Current registration with Social Work England (SWE)
• A minimum of five years' post-qualification experience within health or adult social care.
• Experience of leading, supervising, or managing teams.
• Strong knowledge of legislation relating to adult social care, safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act, Care Act, and associated statutory frameworks.
• Experience managing complex cases and promoting positive risk-taking.
• Excellent communication, partnership-building, and problem-solving skills.
