Job summary

Cygnet Nield House Crewe is seeking a committed Support Worker to help women with mental health needs feel safe, supported and empowered.

You will work 42 hours per week across a mixed 12-hour shift pattern, with day and night shifts, bringing transferable skills from care, hospitality or customer service to deliver compassionate, person-centred care.

We value empathy, resilience and strong communication, and successful applicants will undergo an enhanced DBS check as part of starting with Cygnet.

Qualifications

• Some experience in care, healthcare, support work or mental health would be helpful.
• We are also interested in candidates with transferable skills from people-focused roles.
• Useful transferable skills include communication, empathy, resilience, teamwork, patience, problem-solving, remaining calm under pressure and supporting people through challenging situations.

The service supports women aged 18 and over and is split into two distinct wards, each offering specialist mental health care.Clarion WardClarion Ward is a 14-bed complex personality disorder service for women with a dual diagnosis of personality disorder, with or without co-morbid disordered eating.Compton WardCompton Ward is a 15-bed acute service for women.
