Job summary

Priority Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Support Worker for a 12-month contract in Canterbury. You will support a 10-year-old amputee in his family home, delivering cognitive and emotional support to help maintain independence and engagement in sports and community activities.

The role requires a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle, with 3–4 evenings per week and extra hours in school holidays. A caring, active individual is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with various physical and emotional needs.
• Ability to drive and transport child to activities and school.
• Flexibility to work 3–4 evenings per week and additional hours during school holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a 10-year-old amputee in the family home.
• Assist with activities to promote independence and safe daily routines.
• Support with after-school routine and community activities, alongside a wider care team.

A fantastic 12 month contract opportunity has arisen for the role of a Support Worker in the Canterbury area.

This is an excellent opportunity looking after a child 1:1 in their family home. Our client is an amputee requiring support to live a fulfilled, busy life.

We are searching for an experienced Support Worker who is looking for a new challenge in complex care supporting our client to be as independent as possible.

Client and Role

• This role is supporting a 10-year-old child in his family home, he is an amputee and has executive functioning difficulties
• Our client requires a small level of personal care and mainly cognitive and emotional support to maintain the clients independence
• Our client loves sports and being active in the community
• This role involves working closely with a wider team including physios and OT’s

Successful Applicant

• Must hold a full and valid UK driving license and have access to a vehicle, as the role involves driving the client into the community and school pickup
• Previous experience supporting children with various physical and emotional needs
• Ideally fit and active to support the client’s sporty nature and an interest in sports would be desirable
• Ability to support with the after school routine, 3 – 4 days a week on a consistent basis
