Job summary

Careline The Agency for Care Staff is seeking an experienced Support Worker to assist a 16-year-old young man with autism, anxiety and severe learning disabilities. The role focuses on 1:1 community support, helping him enjoy meaningful activities and build confidence outside the home.

Hours are 4 per week, Saturdays and Sundays or a mix, typically 10am-2pm or 11am-3pm. A driver with access to a vehicle is required. Sponsorship is not offered; this position offers rewarding weekend work.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting young people with autism, anxiety or learning disabilities is desirable.
• Must be a driver with access to a suitable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support within the community to the 16-year-old.
• Help the young person engage in meaningful activities and build confidence outside the home.
• accompany him on walks and visits to local facilities and appropriate activities.

The role will involve providing 1:1 support within the community, helping him to enjoy meaningful activities and build confidence outside of the home. This may include accompanying him on walks, visiting local community facilities and taking part in suitable activities based on his interests and needs.

The successful candidate will be patient, calm and understanding, with the ability to provide consistent support and reassurance. Previous experience supporting young people with autism, anxiety and/or learning disabilities would be highly desirable.
