Job summary

NHS Property Services is seeking a Support Services Team Leader to manage frontline Soft FM teams across Batley Health Centre PFI and nearby sites. The role involves travel between locations, staff development, audits and ensuring high-quality service delivery.

We are looking for a Support Services Team Leader to join our team based at Batley - Batley Health Centre PFI. This is a highly visible, customer-facing role where you will lead and support frontline Soft FM teams, conduct quality audits, build strong stakeholder relationships and ensure excellent service delivery across your area.

About the role
  • Location: This is a mobile role, with Batley Health Centre PFI as the primary base. You will lead and support frontline Soft FM services across Castleford Health Centre, Crofton Health Centre, Featherstone Health Centre, Kings Medical Centre, Newstead House, Normanton Health Centre, Pontefract Health Centre, Star House, travelling between sites according to operational needs. You will also attend Batley Health Centre every Tuesday for the management team/office day.
  • Salary: £28,393 per annum
  • Shift Pattern: This is a 37.5-hour, Monday-to-Friday role supporting services operating between 6am and 8pm. You will have autonomy to plan your hours across the portfolio, including early starts and late finishes, to monitor attendance, support lone workers and meet operational priorities. As a hands‑on Team Leader, you may occasionally provide operational cover where no other cover is available.
  • Working hours: 37.5 hours per week
  • DBS check will be conducted and training will be provided
  • A full manual driving licence is required as a company van will be provided
  • This role may be considered as a job share arrangement, comprising 17.5 hours per week (AM shift) and 20 hours per week (PM shift). Please note that this would involve sharing a company van between both postholders.
What You’ll be doing
  • Independently plan and manage your time across multiple properties, prioritising operational demands while providing visible, hands‑on support to colleagues and customers.
  • Supervise, support and motivate frontline Soft FM colleagues across multiple sites
  • Plan and allocate workloads, manage rotas, and ensure high standards of service delivery
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, responding to operational needs
  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance reviews for your team
  • Complete administrative tasks, including timesheets, stock ordering, audits, and compliance checks
  • Monitor team performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with company standards
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience managing or supervising a frontline teams, ideally within Soft FM or a healthcare environment
  • Strong customer service and administrative skills
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements
  • Knowledge or experience of frontline Soft FM services, such as cleaning, catering or floor care
