Job description

Our client is an award-winning charity that supports and empowers women with convictions and care leavers into sustainable employment. They are recruiting for a Support Service Manager (initially on a 6-month fixed-term contract) to oversee a small team of Employability Coaches, providing person-centred support to a caseload of women, helping them become ‘work ready’.

Role Responsibilities
  1. Oversee a team of 4 Employability Coaches, supporting them in building trusting relationships with their caseload.
  2. Manage a caseload of around 5-10 women, ensuring cases are allocated appropriately and caseload volumes are managed to prevent waiting lists.
  3. Conduct case reviews with team members as needed.
  4. Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, promoting safeguarding culture and providing guidance on safeguarding matters, supported by two Safeguarding Officers.
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience managing or working within a trauma-informed support service for women with complex needs, not necessarily employment-related.
  • Experience supporting and managing staff.
  • Good understanding of the criminal justice system and the needs of women with convictions.
  • Excellent knowledge of safeguarding principles and practices.
  • Warm, inclusive, and approachable manner.
