Cornerstone in Galashiels is seeking a compassionate Support Practitioner to join our team on a permanent 35-hour week. No previous experience is needed; we provide full training and support to help you make a real difference in the lives of the people we support.
You’ll help individuals take part in activities, develop new skills and achieve personal goals within our Connects Hub and in the local community, building meaningful relationships and supporting independence.
Join our fantastic #TeamConnectsHub in Galashiels as a Support Practitioner on a permanent (35 hours per week) basis.
No previous experience is needed; if you're caring, compassionate and willing to learn, we'll provide all the training and support you need.
You'll become part of a welcoming, fun and dedicated team supporting people both within our Connects Hub and out and about in the local community.
You'll help them to take part in activities they enjoy, develop new skills and achieve their personal goals. From swimming to football and sensory activities to arts and crafts, you'll be part of creating fun and meaningful experiences every day.
This is a role where you'll build genuine relationships, encourage independence and make a long lasting positive impact on people's lives.
A full UK manual driving licence would be beneficial, but this is not essential.

Our team typically provide support within the hours of 0800-1800 hours Monday to Friday, however we expect an element of flexibility to fit in with the people we support's needs and planned events, activities and outings that may fall out with these times.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.
Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
