Job summary

Cornerstone Community Care in Galashiels is seeking a dedicated Support Practitioner to join our Connects Hub on a permanent 35 hours per week contract. No prior experience is required as full training and ongoing support are provided.

You’ll work with a friendly team to support people in the local community, helping them take part in activities, learn new skills and pursue personal goals. A driving licence is helpful but not essential.

Shift patterns

Our team typically provide support within the hours of 0800-1800 hours Monday to Friday, however we expect an element of flexibility to fit in with the people we support's needs and planned events, activities and outings that may fall out with these times.


Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.


Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.


If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
