Job summary

Cornerstone Community Care in Buckie is seeking a part-time Support Practitioner (20 or 25 hours). You will support individuals to live independently, assist with personal care and community activities, and help them achieve personal goals.

No experience needed—training is provided, and funding is available for SVQ qualifications, PVG costs and SSSC registration fees. Join a supportive team in Highland.

Qualifications

  • No prior experience required; full training provided.
  • SVQ funded, PVG costs funded and yearly SSSC registration fees funded.
  • Commitment to joining PVG and to pursuing SVQ in Social Services & Healthcare.

Job description

No experience? No problem! If you're kind, reliable, positive and up for making a difference, we'll give you all the training you'll need. We'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification, PVG costs and yearly SSSC registration fees.

What you'll do

Here at Cornerstone, the support that we provide is centred around assisting individuals to identify and work towards their goals. We work with the individuals to develop personal plans that reflect their choices, individual support needs and capabilities.

You’ll support individuals to manage their own homes increase and maintain their independence and encourage and support them with personal care and their social, health and wellbeing needs.

The people we support all have different hobbies and interests too, so we’ll need you to bring creativity and enthusiasm into supporting them to access leisure activities, engage in meaningful activities and take part in hobbies and interests that are important to them, both within their home and out in their local communities.

Shift Patterns

We’re dedicated to providing the best 24/7 support, so shift patterns will involve early mornings, days and evenings. Weekends, public holidays and sleepovers will also form part of your rota on a rotational basis.

The sleep part of a sleepover shift isn’t included within your contracted hours, so you will receive an additional payment for £107.60 per sleepover worked.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

Please note – If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.

If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
