Job summary

Cornerstone in Portlethen is seeking a committed Support Practitioner to join Angus Court. You will support seven individuals with diverse needs, helping with day-to-day tasks and participating in hobbies.

Robust training is provided and we fund SVQ qualification while reimbursing SSSC fees. Shift patterns include 0800-2200 hours, weekends, public holidays and sleepovers with extra pay.

Qualifications

• Experience in caring or supportive roles is preferred, with robust training provided.
• Ability to work to routines and guidelines is required for consistency.
• Willingness to complete SVQ qualification with employer support.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with day-to-day needs including shopping, finances, cooking, appointments, personal care and housework.
• Encourage participation in hobbies and social activities such as bowling, arts & crafts, soaps and discos.
• Work as part of a friendly team while maintaining routines and guidelines.
• Flexibly cover shifts including weekends and sleepovers with appropriate pay.

Our team and the people you'll support

Angus Court is a busy housing support service, as a Support Practitioner no two days are ever the same; you'll be part of a fun, friendly team who supports seven individuals all with different support needs. Your main aim will be supporting the individuals with their day to day needs which include shopping, finances, cooking, appointments, personal care and housework.

We're looking for you to be enthusiastic and creative about participating in and supporting them with their hobbies and interests which include socialising, bowling, arts & crafts, soaps and going to discos.

About you

For these roles, we are ideally looking for individuals with experience in a caring and supportive role. However, you'll receive robust training and have a helpful team behind you to support you every step of the way. Keeping to routines and guidelines is vital, so we'll also need you to bring an understanding of the importance of this.

We'll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills you'll need and we'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees too!

All we'll need you to bring is:

Due to the location of our service, if you don't live in or around Portlethen and are not a driver with access to your own vehicle, we will need you to be mindful of the location and be confident that you can travel for your shifts as our service has limited public transport links that fit with the shift patterns for this role.

Shift Patterns

As we're dedicated to providing around the clock support tailored to the needs of each individual and include weekends and public holidays. At present, our typical shift patterns usually fall in between the hours of 0800-2200 hours and will include weekends, public holidays and sleepovers on a rotational basis.

Our sleepovers are not included in your contracted hours, so you'll receive an additional sleepover payment of between £107.60 per night for each sleepover worked!
