Job summary

Cornerstone is seeking a flexible relief carer to support an amazing gentleman with autism who lives in his own home in Blairgowrie. You’ll help with cooking, meals, house tasks, finances, shopping and prompt with medication, with shifts 10am–11pm and a sleepover finishing at 10am the next day.

You don’t need prior experience or qualifications; reliability, warmth, patience and a willingness to learn matter most. A full UK driving licence is helpful but not essential.

You'll become part of a small, friendly and dedicated team who supports an amazing gentleman who has an Autism diagnosis and lives in his own home.

This is a hands on role where you will:

  • Help with cooking and meal planning
  • Support around the house
  • Assist with finances and shopping
  • Prompt with medication

He's an active gentleman who enjoys:

Why relief work matters

Our relief roles are all about flexibility; you tell us when you're available and we'll look to give you shifts to fit. As we are dedicated to providing the best support 24/7, shifts are currently 10am-11pm with a sleepover finishing at 10am the following morning.

You'll be the person who steps up to cover holidays, absences and training, ensuring that our standard of care and support never drops. It's a key role in our team and what you do genuinely makes a difference. Shift patterns for this role do include early mornings, days, evenings, weekends, public holidays and sleepovers.

What we'll need from you

You don't need experience or qualifications, we're more interested in who you are.

We're looking for someone who is:-
  • Reliable and easy to get along with
  • Practical and willing to get involved
  • Positive, patient and willing to learn new skills

It would be great if you also have a full UK driving license with at least one years' experience on the roads, but this isn't a deal breaker for the right candidate!

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.
