Job summary

Cornerstone in Dumbarton is hiring part-time care workers (up to 30 hours per week) to support individuals with physical and learning disabilities to live independently at home and in the community. No two days are the same, with activities from cooking to arts, crafts and days out.

No experience? We’ll train you, pay you, and fund you to gain recognised qualifications. You will join a supportive team, with PVG checks and ongoing Training Academy coaching to help you progress.

Having a full UK manual drivers licence with 1 years experience on the roads would be beneficial for this role but not a deal breaker for the right candidate.

Shift Patterns

As we're dedicated to providing the best support possible shift patterns will typically be spread over 5 out of 7 days with shifts including early mornings, days and evenings. Currently, shifts follow a pattern of 9am-6pm or 9am-5pm and we provide a sleepover for the individuals who live within the service. Public holidays and weekends would be a requirement on a rotational basis.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.

If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
