The role

As a Support Manager, you'll lead a number of small staff teams supporting people in their own homes across North Tyneside and Newcastle.

You'll get to know the people New Prospects supports properly, as well as their families, staff teams and other professionals. You'll make sure support is safe, well organised and consistently high quality – but just as importantly, genuinely built around the individual rather than the needs of the service.

This is a hands‑on management role. You'll coach and support staff, lead by example, solve problems and keep an eye on quality and compliance. You'll need the confidence to challenge when something isn't right and be prepared to step in when things get difficult.

Your responsibilities will include staff supervision and development, safeguarding, support planning and risk management, rotas and staffing, quality assurance and relationships with families and professionals.

At the heart of all of this is helping people have greater choice, control, relationships, opportunities and involvement in their communities.

Who are we looking for?

We're looking for somebody who understands good social care and knows how much difference good leadership can make.

You might already be a manager, or you could be an experienced senior, lead support worker or team leader ready for your next step. What's important is that you have experience of supporting people with a learning disability or other support needs and can demonstrate your ability to lead, motivate and develop others.

You'll be organised, calm under pressure and able to build positive relationships, while having the confidence to challenge practice when something isn't right.

You'll also have a Level 3 or above qualification in Health and Social Care, or a relevant professional qualification such as Social Work, Youth Work or Nursing.

The role is based from Whitley Bay, working across North Tyneside and Newcastle. It's a 39‐hour week, usually Monday to Friday, although some evening and weekend flexibility is required. The role also participates in an on‑call rota.
