Job summary

Northumberland County Council is recruiting a Support Worker for the Wansbeck Supported Living Service. You will provide compassionate, person-centred care to adults with learning disabilities, enabling them to live independently and engage in daily activities.

The role requires flexibility to cover a rolling 14-week rota, including early, late and night shifts, plus 12-hour shifts. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a care setting (ideally with individuals with learning disabilities).
  • Flexibility to work a 14 week rolling rota including early, late and night shifts and 3 x 12 hour shifts.
  • Hold an NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and daily living support to service users.
  • Promote independence, community access and social activities.
  • Support with meal planning and dietary needs.

We are a CQC registered service, with ambition to achieve an outstanding rating, which provides 24/7 person centred support, ensuring each individual is able to thrive and live a life they choose. Our work includes:

You should have:

  • Experience in a care setting (ideally with individuals with learning disabilities and behaviours of concern)
  • Flexibility to work a 14 week rolling rota - including early, late and night shifts, along with 3 x12 hour shifts
  • A desire to develop your skills and grow within a supportive team

It would also be great if you:

  • Hold an NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Have a full UK driving licence

This role is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.
