Little Thurrock Primary School invites applications for a Support Manager to act as PA to the Headteacher and Office Manager. The role is 35 hours per week, term-time with inset days, starting 7 December 2026.

You will provide confidential admin support and manage day-to-day data and HR liaison across the academy trust. The successful candidate will be organised, patient and communicative, with GCSE Maths and English and proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Bromcom is desirable.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills; ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • GCSE Maths and English (grade 4–9 or equivalent) and proficient in standard office software.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal assistance to the Headteacher, manage meetings, diaries and contacts.
  • Ensure effective admin and clerical support for the school.
  • Oversee day-to-day admin and data functions.
  • Line manage Support Officer and Receptionist.
  • Assist Headteacher and SLT with data for school improvement and system setups.
  • Champion GDPR across the school and act as HR link for the Osborne Trust.
  • Oversee website and policy compliance.
  • Support health and safety in the school.

Support Manager

Salary: Band D Point 20-25

(£29,512.89 - £33,495.80 per annum depending on experience)

35 hours per week

8:00am - 3.45pm (Monday-Friday)

with a 45-minute unpaid lunch break

39 weeks of the year - term time, plus inset days plus 1 additional week to be worked during school closure.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the welcoming and supportive office team at Little Thurrock Primary School. We are looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Support Manager to take on the dual role of PA to the Headteacher and Office Manager. This part-time position is key to ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of administrative and clerical support across the school.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate patience and show a commitment to supporting the school office. This role would be suited to someone enthusiastic, personable, empathetic and able to communicate effectively, whilst maintaining a calm and professional manner, under pressure. Previous school experience would be an advantage but is not essential.

The position will involve:

  • Providing personal assistance to the Headteacher, minute meetings, managing appointments, diaries and contacts
  • Ensuring the provision of an effective administrative and clerical support to the school
  • Being responsible for the day-to-day management of the administration and data function
  • Line managing Support Officer and Receptionist
  • Assisting the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team by using data to provide school improvement information and be responsible for the setting up of systems within the school
  • Championing and overseeing GDPR across the school
  • Being the HR link for the Osborne Trust
  • Overseeing the website and policy compliance
  • Supporting health and safety in the school

The successful candidate will:

  • Have excellent communication & organisational skills and a helpful attitude
  • Be enthusiastic and committed to working as part of a team
  • Have excellent written skills with the ability to multitask
  • Be able to remain calm under pressure and remain positive
  • Be able to follow safeguarding procedures and prioritise students’ welfare
  • Have GCSE Maths and English(grade 4-9 or equivalent)
  • Be proficient in office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ideally Bromcom
