Job summary

Little Thurrock Primary School in Grays is seeking a permanent Receptionist to join the busy school office. You will be the first point of contact for callers and visitors, answer queries, and ensure reception and telephones are covered during 8:15am – 4:00pm, term-time weeks.

You will provide First Aid, administer medications, arrange letters, support with clerical tasks, and access information on the Bromcom system. This role is part-time, 38 weeks per year, with a 45-minute unpaid lunch break.

Responsibilities

  • Be the first point of contact for both telephone and face to face enquiries and take messages where appropriate
  • Ensure Reception and telephones are covered at all times
  • Provide First Aid, administer medications for students and manage medications
  • Arrange and distribute letters
  • Communicate with parents using current systems
  • Be responsible for the sorting and distributing of incoming post
  • Provide general clerical support as required
  • Access information on Bromcom system as appropriate
  • Administration duties, including but not limited to, book labels, checking deliveries, ordering stationary/first aid, creating and distributing School Newsletter, maintaining club registration, printing test papers
