Job description
Overview

Can you make a difference to young people with additional support needs. This position is to ensure the provision of health care support to children and young people with complex medical conditions in order to maintain health and support access to the curriculum. The successful candidate will be competent in the delivery of tasks to support daily living which can include tracheotomy care and suction, catheterisation, support for children that are oxygen dependent and the delivery of individualised feeding programmes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide health care support to children and young people with complex medical conditions to enable health needs to be met and access to the curriculum maintained.
  • Deliver tasks to support daily living, including tracheotomy care and suction, catheterisation, oxygen dependence support, and delivery of individualised feeding programmes.
  • Provide support and guidance to support staff in delivering tasks to support specific health conditions.
  • Work closely with school management and external partners to ensure the ongoing health needs of children are met and inform the delivery of health support plans.
  • Utilise excellent communication and organisational skills within an educational/care environment.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment.
  • Successful candidates will be required to pay for their PVG Membership or Scheme Checks.
