Job summary

Staffordshire County Council is seeking dedicated support workers for adults with learning disabilities at Douglas Road, Newcastle Under Lyme. This waking night role involves staying awake on duty and working on a 4-week rota to total 20 hours per week.

The post may require flexible coverage across Provider Services and care settings to meet business needs, including weekends and bank holidays. You will contribute to independent living and quality care.

Douglas Road is a residential respite facility for up to eight adults. The service is dynamic and caters for people with varying levels of need. People come to our service for a break and could stay for a number of days or weeks. The people we support are always changing which makes it an interesting, fast-paced and rewarding place to work.

You will be expected to work flexibly across the week according to business need, undertaking a range of shifts that may include weekend, and bank holiday working. This role is a waking night role, where you are expected to remain awake and alert on duty. Rotas are subject to change depending on business need. The post is equivalent to 20 hours per week, working 80hours over 4 weeks on a rota basis. Although this role is based primarily at Douglas Road in Newcastle Under Lyme, there may be times when you are expected to work flexibly across Provider Services, including different care settings, delivery approaches, and locations, as required.
