Job summary

Square One Resources in Glasgow is seeking a Support Engineer to provide hands-on IT support across end-user devices, hardware, and infrastructure.

You will diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, configure, install, upgrade and provision end-user devices, and support on-site users with excellent customer service. This role requires 5 days per week on-site in Glasgow and a daily rate of £145–£185, Inside IR35.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in on-site, field or desktop IT support.
• Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS and mobile operating systems.
• Hands-on experience with hardware diagnostics, repairs and installations.
• Understanding of LAN, WAN and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
• Experience using ITSM/ticketing systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Comfortable working 5 days per week on-site in Glasgow.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices and peripherals.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, including operating systems, applications, and patches.
• Configure, install, upgrade and provision end-user devices.
• Provide Hands and Feet / Smart Hands support to remote IT teams.
• Carry out hardware replacements, installations, cable management and basic network troubleshooting.
• Support server room activities including racking and stacking, cable patching and hardware inspections.
• Respond to incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs.
• Document issues and elevate unresolved problems to relevant support teams.
• Maintain accurate IT asset and inventory records.

We are currently recruiting for a Support Engineer to provide hands-on technical support across end-user devices, IT hardware, and infrastructure environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Field, Desktop, or IT Support Engineer who enjoys working directly with users and providing practical on-site technical support.
