Job summary

A leading support organization based in Hexham is seeking a part-time Lead Support Worker to help individuals with complex needs live more independently. You'll coordinate support workers, manage caseloads, and assist clients with daily living tasks. Required qualifications include a Level 3 Diploma in Care and relevant experience. The position offers a salary of £25,838 per year, plus generous benefits and development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Experience assessing referrals and coordinating support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead support planning and coordinate our Support Workers to deliver person-centred support.
  • Balance support, safeguarding, admin and meetings while guiding colleagues and managing caseloads.
  • Support customers with daily tasks like budgeting, cooking and attending appointments.

Job description

Lead Support Worker

Salary £25,838 per year [pro rata], Earn £13.21 per hour plus 34 days leave (rising to 39) and health cash plan worth over £1,140.

Permanent, Part time (30 hpw).

What you’ll do
  • Lead support planning and coordinate our Support Workers to deliver person-centred support.
  • Balance support, safeguarding, admin and meetings while guiding colleagues and managing caseloads.
  • Support customers with daily tasks like budgeting, cooking and attending appointments.
  • Work with multi-agency teams to safeguard and empower our customers.
  • Help customers build independence and prepare for their move‑on into the community.
You have
  • Passion and experience in supporting others ideally in a supported housing setting.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Care or equivalent experience (or are willing to work towards it).
  • Experience assessing referrals and coordinating support.
  • The ability to work under your own initiative, remain calm under pressure and have a resilient approach.
The practical bits
  • Working on a rota 30 hours per week over 7 days (10am – 6pm), working every other weekend.
  • You need an enhanced background check and we pay for it.
  • A valid driving licence and a vehicle insured for business use; we’ll pay for any business mileage.
