Job summary

Templewood Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Support Assistant for Woking & Knaphill to join a brand new Supported Living Service. Roles are available on both a Full-Time and Part-Time basis, covering morning, evening and daytime shifts.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of care experience, preferably in mental health or learning disabilities, with compassion, high empathy and a commitment to helping vulnerable adults gain independence.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience in the care sector, ideally in mental health or learning disabilities.
  • Compassion, high empathy, and the ability to support vulnerable adults toward independence.
  • You should enjoy motivating and supporting others to develop.
  • Available for morning, evening and night shifts across full-time or part-time roles.

Responsibilities

  • Support Manager and senior staff in daily operations.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to maximise service user interests.
  • Safeguard rights and dignity of service users.
  • Foster a positive, engaging environment.
  • Conduct daily assessments and update records.
  • Help service users build confidence and manage mental health.
  • Provide personal physical and mental support.
  • Assist with daily living skills and domestic tasks.
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and security of homes.

About the job Support Assistant - Woking & Knaphill

Due to continued expansion, we are looking for experienced Care & Support Worker's to work in a brand new Supported Living Service situated in Woking & Knaphill. We have multiple roles available, on both a Full-Time and Part-Time basis and covering Morning, Evening and Day time working.

We are looking for people with experience within Mental Health & Learning Disabilities and those who possess compassion, high levels of empathy and the ability to support vulnerable adults towards gaining independence. If you are someone who enjoys motivating and supporting other's and driving their development, then this could be the right move for you.

Key Features of the role:
  • Supporting the Manager, Team Leader and Senior Staff in day to day operations of supported housing unit(s)
  • Maximisation of Service User (SU) interests by liaising with stakeholders; and implementation of each SUs support plan
  • Safeguarding the rights and dignity of each SU
  • Fostering of a positive environment in which SUs are actively engaged
  • Conducting daily assessment of SUs mental and physical state; updating associated records and informing management
  • Supporting SUs to build their confidence, self-esteem and their ability to manage their mental health symptoms
  • Personal delivery of physical and mental support to SUs
  • Promoting SUs health and assist in their accurate medication
  • Supporting SUs with developing social skills and future independent living
  • Supporting SUs with their daily living skills and domestic chores
  • Maintaining the cleanliness, quality, security and safety of each home and individual service user accommodation
