Job summary

Beech Hill Primary School, Linhope Road, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE5 2LW, is recruiting for a part-time teaching assistant on a fixed-term basis until 16 July 2027. Start date ASAP.

32.5 hours per week, 6.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday with a 30-minute lunch break. The successful candidate will assist with literacy and numeracy, assess progress, and deliver targeted interventions under the class teacher's guidance.

Qualifications

• Good Skills in Literacy and Numeracy.
• Experience supporting children needing individual/small group intervention.
• Ability to assess progress under the direction of the class teacher.

Responsibilities

• Support learning in line with the class teacher's plan.
• Provide targeted small-group or one-to-one intervention.
• Uphold safeguarding standards and complete DBS checks.

Start Date – as soon as possible

Part Time – 32.5 hours per week, 6.5 hours per day, Monday – Friday (30min Lunch)

The successful applicant will have:

• Good Skills in Literacy and Numeracy
• Confidence to work with and assess the progress of children under the direction of the class teacher.
• Experience working with children who need additional individual / small group intervention to assist learning.The Academy Trust is strongly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

The successful applicant will be required to obtain an Enhanced Certificate of Disclosure (DBS) and a range of other recruitment checks.
