Job summary

Our Lady & St Anne's Catholic Primary School in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant to support pupils during the midday break. You will help supervise activities, promote positive behaviour and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for all children.

The role requires empathy, good communication skills with children, and the ability to work well with staff and parents. DBS checks and safeguarding compliance are part of the recruitment process.

Qualifications

• Ability to use language and other communication skills that children can relate to.

We are looking to appoint a Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant to join a friendly team of staff providing support/ care to pupils during the midday break.

This job description sets out the duties of the post at the time it was drawn up. The post-holder may be required from time to time to undertake other duties within the school as may be reasonably expected, without changing the general character of the duties or the level of responsibility entailed. This is a common occurrence and would not justify a reconsideration of the grading of the post.

• Ability to empathise with the needs of children
• Ability to work within and apply all school policies e.g. behaviour management, Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities

Knowledge

• A basic knowledge of Health & Safety requirements in a school environment
• Knowledge of the school’s behaviour management policy

Experience

• Experience of establishing positive relationships with children

• Willingness to maintain confidentiality on all school matters
