Connex Education is seeking Supply Teaching Assistants to support primary schools across Swadlincote and surrounding areas. You’ll work with EYFS, KS1 and KS2 pupils, providing flexible classroom support and helping create a positive learning environment.

Opportunities range from regular full-time to day-to-day supply, with weekly PAYE pay and CPD training. DBS checks are required, with robust local support from Connex Education.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children in a UK primary setting is desirable.

About the Role

Connex Education is currently recruiting Supply Teaching Assistants to support primary schools across Swadlincote, Newhall, Woodville and the wider DE11 area.

The new academic year is now underway and we are continuing to see demand from local primary schools for reliable Teaching Assistants who can provide flexible classroom support.

Whether you’re looking for regular full-time work, a few days each week or flexible day-to-day supply, we have a range of opportunities available across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you’ll work alongside class teachers to support pupils, encourage engagement and help create a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
• Assist the class teacher with lesson activities and daily classroom routines.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement throughout the school day.
• Help pupils access learning and make progress.
• Support pupils with additional learning or behavioural needs where required.

Assignment Details

• Immediate and ongoing work available.

Person Specification

We’re looking for candidates who have:

• Recent experience working with children in a UK primary school or similar educational setting.
• GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above.
• Confidence supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional, patient approach.
• A reliable, flexible attitude and the ability to adapt to different school environments.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
